I wrote this blog post at the beginning of last year. I thought I’d share it again because resting is so underrated, yet, so important. It’s Friday superheros…get some rest!

Rest…..cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength:
“And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.” Genesis 2:2
One lesson that I’ve had a hard time learning is that I can’t spend all my energy on
everyone else or doing everything else. You see, I’m a nurturer….I can’t help it. In fact, whenever I try to back off from being so “helpful,” here comes a situation where I just have to help out. I used to take all the extra hours at work (when I was available) if nobody else could. I’d stay late…come in early…complete all the tasks….and the list goes on. I’d work when I was sick, or tired, or sick and tired. Now, don’t get me wrong, I still do my job…sometimes…
