Can YOU Believe It?

Today, I had a thought, so I posted it.  The thought was, “Believe in YOU the way you believe in them.”  I posted it, not just to get others thinking, but for myself.  You see, I’m a supporter.  I am REALLY GOOD at supporting people (I’ve got references).  I’m good at sharing their posts, praying for them, being there for them, and at their events, and even volunteering to do stuff.  I mean I am an amazing supporter (if I do say so myself).

I’m also a pretty good encourager. And I enjoy it!  I enjoy helping others see the potential that they possess.  It does my heart good to encourage others to walk in their God ordained purpose.  Sometimes people need that boost…that vote of confidence…from someone they trust or even someone they don’t know.  Have you ever had someone you don’t know, walk up to you and begin telling you that they could see the potential in you???  It’s kinda amazing.  And it’s a feeling that I love others to feel…that someone believes in them.

But…..what about me???  What about you???  I need you to know that this post has NOTHING to do with others supporting me.  I have a amazing support system….my core….that tells me when I need to step it up and do what I’m called to do, allows me to share ideas and fears, and tells me that I ABSOLUTELY CAN.  This post is about me believing in me.  This is me telling you that I had to learn to believe in ALECIA

MICHELLE WHITE (uhhhh….that’s my full name, in case you didn’t know).  It took some work, and I’m still working on it.  It could be a human instinct, or it could be insecurities that have crept in over the years and caused it, but I’ve always been better at being there for others and helping them to realize their dreams and goals than working on my own.  In fact, I’ve even used THEM as an excuse not to go forward with what I am PURPOSED to do.  Yep…I’ve put my own passions on hold so that I could help and assist others.  Don’t get me wrong, it is good to help others, especially if you’re skilled in certain areas, but what is wrong is putting your EVERYTHING on hold.  I was good at that….making excuses when I could easily get stuff done that I NEEDED to do.  I was squeezing myself out of my own schedule and penciling myself in, and that was NOT OKAY.

It wasn’t until I began to blog regularly that I “remembered” just what I am to do.  I am to encourage, but through my own life and not just through someone else’s.  Sharing my experiences and the way God speaks to me is so refreshing to me.  Each time I post a blog and share, it further reminds me of what I am to do.  I have only recently learned to BELIEVE IN ME!  When I began to believe in myself, I began to notice opportunities arise that wouldn’t have come along before.  One lesson that I have learned first hand is that others notice your confidence.  People can see the joy and confidence that I have in what I do and that makes a difference.

Also, this post has NOTHING to do with the need for others to support you.  Nope…it doesn’t.  Don’t get me wrong, the support of others is important and needed, but it won’t get you where you need to go.  Someone else’s happy train can only take you so far.  And you must understand that when you don’t believe in yourself, you are also NOT fully believing in the power and purpose that God placed within you. If you are gifted to do

something, it’s because God saw fit to place that gift in YOU!  “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” (James 1:17, NLT)  Philippians 4:13 (NLT) says, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”  The word of God says that you CAN so that means God expects you to believe this and DO.

We have got to learn to BELIEVE.  “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” (Mark 9:23, NLT)  I’m sure you’ve heard,

“If you can believe it, you can achieve it!”  Well you can!  If you are living your life for Christ, He has placed His spirit within you.  “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Romans 8:11)  He has given you power to overcome fear….something that He didn’t intend for us to have in the first place.  “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

So, when that opportunity presents itself (one that you KNOW God ordained), when you feel led to start that venture, write that book, or even share that word or blog post, DO IT!!!  I can believe in you, heck….your ENTIRE family and circle can believe in you, but if YOU don’t believe in you, it won’t work.  Know that you got this…BELIEVE that you got this and that God makes no mistakes and He did, indeed, choose you.  You weren’t the second runner up or the plan B, but you were His first choice to fulfill this particular plan.  “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

As you enter into the new week, believe in ALL THAT POWER AND PURPOSE that is in you.

Love y’all!
