The Finale.

So, I’ve decided that I don’t need to be lazy any longer (eye roll) and that I need to resume my workouts. Uh Huh….. mmmkay. I pulled out my favorite workout DVD set, “TurboFire.” As I got into the workout, I was feeling pretty good. But toward the end, I got a bit winded. Now, any of you that know anything about Chalene Johnson (creator of the workout), you know that she yells “YOU’RE NOT TIRED!” throughout the workout to remind you not to quit. Well, I was at the point that I was yelling back “YES I AM!” at the screen… LOL… it was ridiculous. Anyhoo, as I was deciding whether or not to just try again another day, she said, “You’re doing great! Guess where you’ve made it to….??? THE FINALE!” That pumped me right up. I mean, I hit that last ten minutes like I was winning a prize after. And you know what? I felt great when I was finished. I felt accomplished… sore… but accomplished.

finale

That brings me to the point of the day…. YOU MADE IT TO THE FINALE!!!!!  YES!!! Y’all, I didn’t mention that when I heard her say that through the screen at me, all I could do was kick hard and cry. I cried because as she completed her statement, God spoke to me and said, “Yep, you’ve made it to the finale.” Tore me up and at this point I had tears falling from my eyes and sweat dripping into them. Jacked up situation. But really, there were so many times when I would get discouraged and think, “when will I see what You see, God?” And He let me know, all those times, that He was building something in me that could not be torn down. See, when we wait on God as we become waiters for God (as in serve… like at a restaurant), we are guaranteed to see the end of the shift come. Yep, just like a waiter has a certain amount of hours that they work before they see those tips, we have a certain length of time to wait before we reap the benefits. All that work will pay off. You will see the success of that project you’ve been working on. You will make back the money from that investment that God led you to make in addition to the income from its success. Don’t stress, you will earn that degree, just keep praying and studying. But don’t quit working. Even when the sweat drips in your eyes just as fast as the tears flow out, don’t quit. See, if you quit, you can’t possibly make it to the end. Remember, you gotta suffer first. “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” 1 Peter 5:10.

When it feels like the finale will never come, remember “YOU’RE NOT TIRED!” because you serve a God that is the giver of strength. “…My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…” 2 Corinthians 12:9. When you have no idea what God is up to and you begin to doubt that you’re even capable, remember that our thoughts can’t reach His. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9. When you recall what God promised you but you’re not so sure He will actually do it for you, remember that He doesn’t lie so if He said it, it’s gonna happen. “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19. If God said it, IT HAS GOT TO HAPPEN! “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11.

You know what’s so amazing about a good finale? The audience always wants more. No matter how suspenseful the show was, no matter how late it gets, they always want more. After that workout, I wanted more! I wanted to continue because of how I felt afterward. That is the feeling that God is planning to leave us with…. wanting more. More of Him and all that He has for us, because it’s worth it. And in this hour, God is proving to us that no matter how long the “show”, it’ll be worth it.

So, welcome to the finale. And get ready, it’s gonna be a real curtain closer! 😉

Love y’all (I really do) and I pray that you all have a terrific Tuesday!

But I gotta go…. K. Bye!
